The EYESONTHEWALL team has been commissioned to perform at the Roundhouse Rising Festival, showcasing fresh and bright talents coming from international music scene. We have arranged live visuals for two adventurous nights of experimental music, ranging from psychedelic indie-pop and Sigus Ros-inspired piano acoustics to post-punk, flamenco, middle-east fusion and improvisatory, ska-driven afro-beat.
For the first night, EYESONTHEWALL creatives were united with musicians Kuaigora, Ajimal, LectricLax and The Voyeurist under the symbolic umbrella of the theme Atom. We approached the brief with scientific inventiveness; nonetheless our task was to emphasize the dreamy and emotionally dense undertone of the music. Thus our visual interpretations of the suggested theme were kaleidoscopic in its unpredictability, yet perfectly coinciding with the music mood of a particular band. Spectacles of orbital transitions and quantum leaps, organic metamorphosis, cosmic explosions and molecular biology, all recombined and counterbalanced, triggered emergence of new audio-visual narratives.
Second night offered us a full freedom of creative choice, limited only by the stylistic twists of performing musicians – adrenaline rushers United Vibrations, Congolese folkster Tres B and Andalucian-cum-Indian Jero Ferec.
To celebrate such a diversity of the music experiments, EYESONTHEWALL collective produced a hypnotic mélange of visuals, inspired by the ideas of oriental magnetism, galactic interventions, eastern pilgrimage and the tribal chants of Africa. We succeeded in following the impromptu music shifts, throwing the audience into a whirlwind of the ocular magic. Our live visual production was as immediately engaging as the music itself.
